Mayra Gutierrez
Director of IIFP and First Born & More

Mayra has worked in early childhood education for over 12 years. Her experience includes work in non-profit administration, community organizing, family engagement, grant management, and leadership development. Most recently, she led the Family Support and Early Intervention Division with ECECD. Mayra was born and raised in California and resides in Albuquerque with her husband and two young sons. Her family is from Ocotlán, Jalisco, Mexico and she is bilingual in English and Spanish.

Maia Larsgaard, M.Ed.
IIFP Training Manager

Maia brings more than 30 years of experience working with children and parents. She has a master’s degree in early childhood and parent education, is a certified parent coach, and has taught every age from birth to adults over the years. Maia is a recent transplant from Minnesota and loves the big blue skies of southern New Mexico. She is proud to have raised three daughters who are now amazing young women.

Marisol Trevizo
IIFP Trainer and Translator

Marisol has lived in Santa Fe for many years and loves this beautiful city full of art and diversity. She has worked as a home visitor since 2020, when she completed her Community Health Worker/Home Visiting Certification through Santa Fe Community College. She enjoys working with families from different backgrounds as well as doing trainings through IIFP. Marisol is married to a wonderful husband and has an amazing young son. She loves meeting people, exploring new places, and living in gratitude.

Mireya Schumaker
Trainer and Program Support

Mireya does program support and training for the Institute for Innovative Family Programs (IIFP) and worked as a First Born home visitor in Santa Fe for four years. Currently Mireya creates the First Born/IIFP newsletter and handles social media for the two organizations. She earned a bachelor’s degree in German Language and Literature from UNM. Now a mom of two, Mireya was also a nanny after college. She is passionate about creating healthy boundaries in home visiting and supporting staff to stay inspired and engaged in their role as a home visitor.

Molly McBranch
IIFP Trainer and Program Support

Molly is a trainer and program consultant for First Born and IIFP where she develops curriculum, training sessions, teaches classes . She brings a background in leadership in home visiting, child development, and family engagement. Molly founded the First Born Program of Los Alamos in 2014 and grew the program to meet state and private funding requirements. She has a BA in Sociology and Anthropology from Whitman College. Molly is most proud of her commitment to supporting healthy relationships in families with a spirit of curiosity and inclusion.
